PE and Sport Premium

Please find details of how we have used the sport and pupil premium grants to improve outcomes for our pupils:

Spring Lane Primary School has strategically invested its PE and Sports Premium to enhance physical education and promote an active lifestyle among all pupils, with a strong focus on inclusivity and sustainability. A significant portion of the funding has supported SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) pupils, ensuring that adapted resources and tailored activities are available so that every child can participate and thrive in PE lessons. To tackle inactivity and encourage movement among less active children, the school has introduced engaging enrichment activities and inclusive physical programmes, helping to build confidence and promote long-term healthy habits.

In a move towards sustainable physical development, the school continued to deliver a Spring Riders cycling course, equipping pupils with essential cycling and road safety skills—an initiative that promotes lifelong fitness and independence. Internal and external competitions have been revitalized, giving children opportunities to represent their school and experience the benefits of teamwork, resilience, and fair play. Additionally, the premium has supported the professional development (CPD) of staff, enabling them to upskill in delivering high-quality, inclusive PE lessons. Through these targeted investments, Spring Lane continues to develop pupils' physical abilities and life skills, while embedding a culture of health, inclusion, and sustainability.
