Meet the Governors

Chair of Governors - Carolann Cooke-Chambers

I am an operations manager for a local not-for-profit company.  I am committed to my local community and see the education of our children as essential to the growth of our country.  I have two children at Spring Lane Primary School.

Vice-Chair of Governors - Lynn Holt

As a 'retired' teacher with grown up children, I have enjoyed spending time at Spring Lane Primary School working with Year 2 and Year 6.  I am now delighted to be able to support the staff and children as a governor too.  In my spare time I enjoy Zumba and dancing.

Headteacher - Alex Owens

I have been a Headteacher for fourteen  years.  I am now in my fifth year at Spring Lane Primary School.  I have worked in a number of schools in Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and now Northamptonshire.  I am a Local Leader of Education and am also employed as an Improvement Partner.  In my spare time I try to keep fit and spend time by the sea.

Staff Governor - Laura Brown

Since joining the team at Spring Lane I have been Maths lead and am currently responsible for Years 2 and 3, as part of the senior leadership team.  Outside of school I spend time running around after my three lively boys, and when I can find the time I also enjoy keeping active by going to the gym and playing netball.

Parent Governor - Ahmed Wais

I am a volunteer at the local mosque and work as a treasurer for the Islamic Centre in Northampton.  I have a keen interest in technology.  I currently have one child at Spring Lane Primary School.

Parent Governor - Maria Harding

I have two children, one at Spring Lane Primary School and one pre-school age.  I have previously worked in Nursery settings and am interested in Early Years education.
