We are already nearing the end of another term and what a busy term it has been!
Spring Lane Pets
We have welcomed 4 chickens and 2 rabbits (Woody and Opal) to the school. The children are very excited to have them in school. They will have the opportunity to look after them and cuddle them. The first egg has already been laid!
At last the new furniture has been delivered. We are still having visits from the builders who are finishing off odd jobs. If you would like to have a look around the building and see the new pets we will leave the school open on Friday until 3.45pm. Please ask the children about the rules and we ask that no pushchairs come in the building but they can be left in the entrance.
After school club
We have been reviewing the provision for after school and breakfast club. This has included offering a new menu including fruit, yogurt, cereal and toast for breakfast and a range of fruit, cake, sandwiches, wraps etc after school. Every day there will be a craft or cooking activity on offer as well as an opportunity for playing outside and inside. We will also try to hear every child read and help with any homework activities.
We have reviewed the pricing. The overall cost will remain the same:
After school £7.50 – 3.15pm until 5.45pm
We thought sometimes you may only need 30 minutes or an hour so there is also the option to pay £1.50 per 30 minutes. For example; if you pick up at 3.45pm this will be charged at £1.50, or 4.15pm will be £3.00.
If you would like to register your child please ring Miss Gubceac to complete the registration forms. Any sessions can then be booked up to 3pm on the day.
Mrs White will be leaving school on Tuesday 2 June to have her baby and begin her maternity leave. Miss Beecher will be taking over her class and has been working with Mrs White and Mr Hayes to ensure a smooth transition. We wish Mrs White well and look forward to her visiting us regularly.
Mrs Roberts will be leaving the school on Friday 22 May to spend time with her family. Miss Gubceac and Mrs Avery will be taking on her duties in the school office.
After many years our Chair of Governors Mrs Riley has decided to retire from her role on 8 June. We would like to thank her for all her hard work and support for the school.
We had one expression of interest for parent Governor. We would therefore like to welcome Mrs Ellen Tero to the Governing body.
Other parent governors are:
