Can I start by thanking you all for the effort you are making to get your children to school on time each day. As we are approaching the end of our first month back at school I thought it would be good to share some reminders and important dates with you.
Please remember all pupils need to be wearing the correct school uniform and have their PE kit in school each week.
Our Parent Governors have been completing a survey about school uniform. A majority of parents would prefer a white polo shirt instead of the current green one. They would also like a red cardigan as well as a jumper. Grey trousers, skirts or pinafores have been chosen. Thank you for your help with this survey. As you replace uniform please follow the list below:
Red sweatshirt or cardigan
White polo shirt
Grey trousers or shorts for boys
Grey trousers, skirts or pinafore dress for girls
White or black socks
Grey or black plain tights or leggings
Black shoes (No Logos)
Trainers or plimsols
Plain black or grey tracksuit if it is cold
PE kit should be in a named bag
Please make sure that long hair is tied back for school. Plaits or a ponytail are best for girls. This will help reduce the spread of head lice in school.
Please remember school times and help your children’s learning by getting to school on time:
School Starts 8.55am – please note the gate will be closed at 9.00am.
School Ends 3.15pm – please be on time as being left after school can be upsetting for young children.
No holidays are allowed in term time. If your child is ill please ring the school office in the morning. If your child has an appointment in the school day please bring the appointment letter to the school office for our records. The pupils’ entrance is the gate at the top of Scarletwell Street. Children should not be dropped off at the main office in the morning or collected from the main office in the evening.
Many of you will be preparing for EID next week and all of our school community hope you are have a wonderful time. Please remember that pupils are only entitled to ONE DAY away from school for EID. Any additional days will be unauthorised.
Thank you to those parents/carers who have been hearing their children read each week. You have an important part to play in ensuring your children become good readers. Please remember to sign the reading diary when you have listened to your child and add a comment if possible. Each child will be given a reward bookmark and each time an adult at home hears them read and signs their reading diary they will be given a sticker for their bookmark. Once they have 10 stickers they will be able to choose a prize from the class box.
